Terms of Service
Effective October 5, 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") are an agreement between you and CTT Apps LLC ("CTT Apps", "we", "us") governing your use of Gear Guard Viewer, including the website at gear-guard-viewer.pages.dev, any related apps, and Gear Guard Viewer Pro (together, the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.
1. The Service
Gear Guard Viewer lets you view, organize and export video recorded by your vehicle's cameras. It reads files from a drive or folder you choose and processes them on your device. Some features require a paid Pro license. The free version is supported by advertising.
Gear Guard Viewer is an independent product. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Rivian Automotive, LLC or its affiliates. "Rivian", "Gear Guard" and related names are trademarks of their respective owners and are used only to describe compatibility.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live) to buy Pro. Users under 18 may use the Service only with the involvement of a parent or guardian. You may not use the Service if you're barred from doing so by applicable law.
3. Your footage and your responsibilities
You keep all rights to your footage. We don't claim ownership of anything you open, create or export with the Service.
Camera footage can capture other people, vehicles, license plates and locations. You are solely responsible for how you record, view, store, export and share footage, and for complying with all applicable laws. That includes privacy, surveillance, audio and video recording, data protection, and defamation laws. You agree not to use the Service to harass, stalk, intimidate, or invade the privacy of anyone, or for any unlawful purpose.
You're responsible for keeping your own copies of important footage. Your vehicle may overwrite recordings, and drives can fail. Features such as the storage forecast and backup are conveniences, not guarantees.
4. License to use the Service
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service for your personal or internal business purposes. You agree not to:
- circumvent, disable or interfere with licensing, payment, advertising or security features;
- share, publish, sell or transfer license keys, or use one license beyond its activation limit;
- copy, resell, sublicense, or offer the Service (or a substantially similar service built from it) to others, except as allowed by open-source licenses that apply to included components;
- use automated means to overload, scrape or abuse the Service or its servers; or
- generate fraudulent ad impressions or clicks.
Third-party open-source components included in the Service are licensed under their own terms.
5. Gear Guard Viewer Pro
- Purchase. Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Pro bought in a mobile app is sold by Apple or Google under their terms.
- License key. After purchase, CTT Apps LLC issues you a license key for personal use on a limited number of browsers or devices (currently three). Keep your key private. You can deactivate it on one device to use it on another, from the Pro screen in the app.
- One-time payment. Unless stated otherwise at purchase, Pro is a one-time payment that includes updates for as long as we offer the Service. It does not include cloud services we may offer separately in the future.
- Refunds and right of withdrawal. Refund requests are handled under the refund policy shown at checkout. If you live in the EU, UK or another country with a statutory right of withdrawal for digital content, you may lose that right once Pro is activated, but only if you expressly agreed to immediate delivery and acknowledged this at checkout. If you've had a technical problem, contact us first at support@cttapps.com. Refunded or charged-back licenses are deactivated.
- Changes. We may add, change or remove features over time. We will not remove Pro's core features from a valid license without good reason, such as legal, security or third-party platform requirements.
- Revocation. We may disable a license that was obtained fraudulently, charged back, shared publicly, or used in violation of these Terms.
6. Advertising
The free version displays advertisements, including ads served by third parties such as Google. Ads, and the products and sites they link to, are the responsibility of the advertisers. We don't endorse them. See our Privacy Policy for how advertising works and how to opt out of personalized ads.
7. Third-party services
The Service relies on third-party services such as Cloudflare (hosting), Paddle (payments), Google (advertising), and OpenStreetMap (maps). Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms. We aren't responsible for third-party services.
8. Compatibility and availability
The Service works with the file formats and folder structures vehicles currently produce. Vehicle manufacturers may change these at any time, and we don't guarantee that the Service will work with every vehicle, firmware version, drive, browser or device. We may modify, suspend or discontinue all or part of the Service at any time.
9. Disclaimers
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE", WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED OR STATUTORY. THIS INCLUDES ANY WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE OR SECURE, OR THAT FOOTAGE WILL BE PRESERVED. TIMESTAMPS, LOCATIONS, ACTIVITY DETECTION, FISHEYE CORRECTION, EXPORTS, STORAGE ESTIMATES AND OTHER OUTPUTS MAY BE INACCURATE OR INCOMPLETE. YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR VERIFYING THEM BEFORE RELYING ON THEM, INCLUDING FOR INSURANCE, LEGAL OR SAFETY PURPOSES.
10. Limitation of liability
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CTT APPS LLC AND ITS MEMBERS, MANAGERS, EMPLOYEES AND AGENTS WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES. THEY ALSO WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY LOSS OF DATA, FOOTAGE, PROFITS, REVENUE OR GOODWILL ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO THE SERVICE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ALL CLAIMS RELATING TO THE SERVICE WILL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (A) THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US FOR THE SERVICE IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE CLAIM AND (B) US$50.
Some jurisdictions don't allow certain warranty disclaimers or limitations of liability, so some of the above may not apply to you. Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have under consumer protection laws that can't be waived.
11. Indemnity
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless CTT Apps LLC from any claims, damages, losses and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising from your footage, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or of anyone else's rights.
12. Termination
You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or end your access, or disable a license, if you violate these Terms. Sections 3, 6, and 9 through 14 survive termination.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the state in which CTT Apps LLC is organized, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved exclusively in the state or federal courts located in that state, and you and we consent to their jurisdiction. Before filing a claim, you agree to contact us and try to resolve the dispute informally for at least 30 days.
14. General
These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement between you and us about the Service. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest stays in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision isn't a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them in connection with a merger, acquisition or sale of assets. We may update these Terms by posting a new version with a new effective date. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the changes.
